Welcome to the Level 1 Theory Course for the Piano Marvel Method! Having a solid and progressive introduction to Music Theory creates a strong foundation for learning how to read and understand written piano music. Reading music is different than playing music just as reading words is different than speaking words. When you are learning how to read you are learning symbols and terminology that represent sound just like when you are learning how to read a new language you are learning letters and words that represent what you would ‘hear’ if someone was talking. This course focuses on teaching you how to recognize, understand, and interpret musical symbols in piano sheet music and then play them at the piano. In other words, it is teaching you how to play written piano music.
As you move through the course, you will be watching instructional videos that progressively teach you how to read piano music, followed by quizzes and challenges to test your knowledge. Then you will be sent to specific exercises in the Piano Marvel software to apply what you have learned at the piano. The pdf’s of the Piano Marvel Method and Technique books that contains information and the songs you will be learning in the Piano Marvel app during this course can be found below. You can print them at any time for reference. Good luck!
