Lesson #9- Finger Substitution

pianopanacea April 14, 2022

Objective:

  • Learn how to use finger substitution

Instructions: Finger substitution means to switch which finger plays a specific key on the piano. For example playing the note with the 2 finger and playing it again with the 3 finger. This helps to reposition the hand so you are in a position to play upcoming notes that would be higher or lower than your original hand position would have been prepared to play. The videos in the exercise lessons will explain how to apply this in the specific exercises you will be completing within this module.
